Chemistry
is one of the most important fundamental sciences. The research and development
in the field of chemistry can give the greatest of heights.. A career in chemistry
is definitely one of the best way to contribute in the world of science as they
are correlated with maths, physics zoology and botany.
People
thinks that field of chemistry basically
studies the substances and how these substances react with other but its also
the relation with the ecosysytem and now also the economy as they produce a
great product.
Note- All
chemistry majors do not become chemists. They may also enter into other
branches related to this field.
Courses
to be done in Chemistry
The chemistry
lovers can gp for Bachelor of Science degree after 12th standard. Those who
have studied physics, chemistry and mathematics till 12th class are eligible
for the admissions and have interstest in these subjects will give you an ectra
boost as interest is important not the marks. All Indian universities that have
science in it offer B.S.c in Chemistry
degree.
If you
are interested to study the applied part of chemistry, you can give Engineering
entrance exams and enroll for B.E. / B.Tech in Chemical Engineering.
The
Master’s level courses are also available after BSc and BE/BTech courses.
Master’s degree also opens the door for various specializations. Specialization can send you to more specific
part of chemistry so choose wisely. When go for specialization.
Areas
of specializations in chemistry
Depending
on the personal interest, students can opt for various specialisations in
chemistry. Mostly, you get this choice at the level of Master’s degree. There are
different fields like Organic Chemistry, Agrochemistry and Biochemistry. The example
I mentioned are useful in industries.
If you
have interest in working in industries that many chemistry lover have you can
opt for Chemical engineering, environmental chemistry, food processing and
inorganic chemistry can get you well earning job in respective industries.
For the
lovers of space and stars, astrochemistry right place to go. Where you can explore
the chemical composition and nature of materials in space. More opportunities of research in high tech labs
could be found In these fileds.
Those who
don’t like organic as there a sum of people that don’t like can go for Nuclear chemistry. It will give you work with
many parts of the society like army to make bomb ect.
The
climate change is the biggest challenge that humanity is facing today. A
specialization in environmental chemistry will give you the opportunity to know how one can balance the ecology using chemistry.
Job
opportunities in chemistry
The most
popular career option for chemistry graduates is research. You can go to pursue
PhD in area of their interest and get employed at research organization or
collages as now a days many colleges performs research by itself.. This
includes health care, engineering, cosmetics and medicine related chemical
laboratories.
Pharmaceutical
companies also employ chemists on large scale. Here, you have to help the
company in running drug trials, discovering new drugs and creating effective
medicine. Now a days Drug business have been a real good one as many dieses rallies
on drugs to cure the disease.
